Training methods for children with vocal disorders

Perform respiratory training to regulate respiration-pronunciation, change thoracic breathing to mixed thoraco-abdominal breathing, control the ability to exhale so that the exhalation is slow and even, and the exhalation period is prolonged. Breathing: applying abdominal breathing is the best way to control and support articulation (auditory whether there is a sense of breathing effort) Resonance therapy: making the sound resonate within the facial bones, which in turn produces a sense of vibration of the nose and lips during articulation, can improve resonance and make the vocal folds close more gently, etc. Respiratory training: abdominal breathing can enhance the support and control of breathing during vocalization; the abdominal wall expands and the diaphragm descends during inhalation, and the abdominal muscle contracts, the abdominal wall sinks and the diaphragm rises during exhalation. The shoulders and thorax are relaxed during the whole process. Reduce the hard sound: when vocalizing, the vocal cords close first and then the airflow rushes open the vocal folds to make the vocal cords vibrate and sound, which can produce sudden and stronger and louder sound; the vocal folds are pressed down too much and the airflow overly impacts the vocal cords. Training methods: pronounce /h/ or feel the airflow before pronouncing; practice words beginning with /h/ sound such as ha, hey, etc.; practice words beginning with reason: love ah, etc.; apply as much as possible; chewing method: making exaggerated chewing movements while vocalizing will make the tension of vocal folds decrease and vocal folds contact more reasonable. Training method: open your mouth wide (the thickness of 4 cookies) in front of a mirror and chew substantially; chew while softly vocalizing; pronounce – words – sentences – conversations; gradually reduce the amplitude of chewing after a few weeks of training and restore the normal movement of the jaw. Yawn and sigh method: open the airway to the maximum, relax the pharyngeal contraction muscle and contract the hyoid bone listed, the muscle can produce an inspiratory yawn; exhalation sigh is to open the vocal tract and expand the pharynx to the maximum (treatment of functional diseases; can be used as a relaxation therapy when the vocal tract is overly tense or there is a squeeze card); training methods: yawn, exhale gently vocalize, can have a sense of comfort; pronounce /h/ or open mouth vowels, start to pronounce at a time One word at a time until four or five words Laryngeal massage: press your fingers on both sides of the thyroid cartilage for longitudinal massage, which can relieve excessive force when speaking. Open mouth method: Observe the difference between open and non-open mouth in the mirror and try to speak with your mouth open.
