Oral and maxillofacial cysts refer to a non-abscess pathological cystic cavity that occurs in the oral cavity and maxillofacial region and are benign lesions. The cystic fluid within the cavity is usually clear and can turn to pus if infection occurs. The outside of the cyst is surrounded by soft tissue to form the cyst wall.
