The severity of hypertension needs to be determined by the patient’s staging as well as grading. If grade 2 or higher hypertension is first detected, patients should be treated with oral antihypertensive medications in a timely manner, along with lifestyle interventions. All five major classes of antihypertensive drugs are commonly used, but the more common ones are mainly calcium channel antagonists and ARB drugs, and some combination agents are also very commonly used. Patients with moderate intensity hypertension are recommended to choose mainly combination agents, such as Irbesartan, Hydrochlorothiazide tablets, or a combination of Irbesartan and Amlodipine, etc. These drugs can quickly and effectively lower blood pressure smoothly and help patients to control their blood pressure within the target range.
