How to treat lacrimal duct trauma

The lacrimal duct area includes various tissues such as the medial canthal ligament, the lacrimal system, and the eyelid support movement system, so trauma to the lacrimal duct area is usually complex. Surgery in this area consists of two major parts, one for traumatic lacrimal duct reconstruction and one for correction of the medial canthus deformity, which are usually addressed simultaneously in one phase of surgery. However, in our hospital, due to the high number of out-of-town patients, it is also clinically possible to perform another phase II surgery after debridement and suturing, but from our clinical observation, the possibility of successful lacrimal duct reconstruction will decrease more than ten days after trauma. Therefore, we hope that patients who come to our hospital can be seen after a simple debridement and bandage treatment after trauma, so that they do not have to undergo deformity correction surgery at the local hospital, and the time of visit should not exceed ten days.
