How to check for novel coronavirus

When checking for novel coronavirus infection, the first step is to state the medical history, whether there is a history of contact with a person infected or suspected of being infected with the virus, and whether there is a history of travel or residence in an infected or other endemic area. For symptoms, observe the time of appearance of fever, measure the body temperature, and observe whether there are other symptoms such as dry cough, malaise, nasal congestion, and runny nose. If the patient is consistent with the history and typical presentation, a chest CT (or chest X-ray) and routine blood tests are recommended. If the test results are consistent with the manifestations of viral pneumonia, the diagnosis can be confirmed with pathogenic testing for the novel coronavirus.
