Tuberculosis treatment cycle in children

Tuberculosis in children is generally treated in two phases: 1. Intensive phase: the main purpose is to kill the more active bacteria and prevent the recurrence and production of drug-resistant bacteria, this process is generally 2-3 months, usually 2-4 drugs in combination; 2. Consolidation phase: the main purpose is to consolidate treatment, about 4-6 months, or even 7-9 months of time. In general, the treatment period still depends on the degree of cooperation of the child in the treatment process and the treatment effect, dynamic observation, regular follow-up, regular review, observation of the treatment effect and timely adjustment of the treatment plan. If the treatment goes well and there are no adverse reactions in the middle, the treatment period is about 6-9 months.
