2 months after the ankle fracture if the fracture heals relatively well, proper functional exercise can be carried out. It is better to apply heat to the ankle joint before the functional exercise period to reduce the pain during the training. Its main training methods: 1. dorsiflexion training of the ankle joint, hooking the toe; 2. flexion of the ankle joint, pressing the toe; 3. inversion of the ankle joint; 4. valgus training of the ankle joint. Each motion should be performed at least 10-15 times, each time lasting 30 seconds, twice a day. As the ankle joint brakes the entire lower limb training is reduced, the muscles of the calf and thigh, including the muscles of the hip, should be properly exercised, and the intensity of the training must be maintained during the exercise to prevent secondary injury to the ankle fracture. Ice packs around the ankle joint should be applied for 3-5 minutes after training to reduce ankle pain caused by training.
