Cough syndrome is a condition in which a transient loss of consciousness occurs during coughing and is able to recover quickly on its own without any sequelae. However, patients are prone to falls and injuries due to the variable period of cough syncope, which can lead to many comorbidities and the disease can occur in all age groups for unknown reasons. It is mostly seen in male patients with chronic respiratory diseases, such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema, but also in patients with atrioventricular block, obstructive cardiomyopathy, carotid sinus allergy, atherosclerosis and other diseases. Therefore, patients with chronic diseases are advised to actively treat their cough to avoid further aggravation of the disease.
