Introduction to IVF protocols

Patients often wonder why they are all doing IVF, but others are on the long protocol and I am on the super long protocol, do I need longer treatment time than others? Can I use the same long protocol as others? Here we will give you a brief introduction to the ovulation promotion protocol in IVF treatment. IVF, or in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer, requires the application of controlled ovulation techniques to encourage a cluster of follicles to grow together, mature, retrieve the eggs, fertilize and transfer them. Controlled ovulation requires the selection of an appropriate ovulation protocol based on the individual patient’s condition. Currently, we commonly use long protocols, ultra-short protocols, ultra-long protocols, antagonist protocols, microstimulation protocols, luteal phase ovulation, etc. In clinical practice, we formulate individualized ovulation protocols based on the patient’s age, basal FSH value, E2 value, basal status ovarian volume and sinus follicle count. For those who respond, short regimen, ultra-short regimen or other regimens are available. The ovulation promotion regimen for each patient is the most suitable one determined by the physician according to the patient’s own condition.
