How soon to have intercourse with endometrial surgery

Sexual intercourse should not be performed until at least 1 month after endometrial surgery, or 2-3 months later if the postoperative pain is more pronounced. Endometrial surgery causes trauma to the endometrium and requires some time for repair, during which the cervix is open and blood crusts are continuously discharged. Therefore, it is not advisable to have intercourse too early after surgery. Premature intercourse may increase the infection in the uterine cavity, which is more harmful to the body, and it is usually recommended to resume sexual life after 1 month after surgery. In addition, patients should also take antibiotics under the guidance of doctors to prevent infection if necessary after surgery, and use drugs to restore the normal thickness of the endometrium to avoid recurrence of the disease. It is recommended that patients pay attention to rest, strengthen nutrition, avoid straining, ensure sufficient sleep, exercise properly, avoid cold and spicy stimulating food, and pay attention to personal hygiene, keep the vulva clean and dry to prevent infection.
