Tuberculous pleurisy fluid color

Tuberculous pleurisy leads to pleural effusion, which is usually yellowish or dark yellow, and sometimes can also present as a bloody pleural effusion. If antacid bacilli are found in the pleural fluid, the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy can be confirmed clinically. Patients with tuberculous pleurisy will have symptoms of tuberculosis toxicity, such as low fever, weakness, night sweats, weight loss, etc. A small amount of pleural fluid can cause chest pain associated with breathing, while a large amount of pleural fluid can cause shortness of breath. When patients are diagnosed with tuberculous pleurisy, active anti-tuberculosis treatment should be carried out. Commonly used anti-tuberculosis drugs include isoniazid, rifampin, pyrazinamide, streptomycin, etc. The principles of application are early, appropriate, combined, full and regular use.
