Can rheumatic diseases be cured?

Rheumatic diseases have been treated as an independent scientific research internationally for a century. In our domestic science, rheumatology is the youngest clinical discipline, the Chinese Society of Rheumatology was established in the 1980s, and dozens of large hospitals in China have set up rheumatology and immunology departments before and after that. Through the efforts of several generations of rheumatologists, the level of rheumatology diagnosis and treatment in China has been catching up with the world’s advanced level. However, the knowledge of rheumatism has not been widely popularized in our country, and misdiagnosis and mistreatment are still very common. Therefore, the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases must be guaranteed only in large hospitals with rheumatology or rheumatology-immunology departments. Various rheumatic diseases often have systemic multi-system and multi-organ damage, have complicated symptoms, and often become difficult and complicated due to complex and variable clinical manifestations. Some rheumatic diseases have a chronic and prolonged course, and some of them are fulminant. Diagnosis and treatment are quite tedious and complicated, and the irregular use of drugs often makes diagnosis and treatment more difficult. The diagnosis of patients requires not only a detailed medical history and physical examination, but also various antibody and imaging tests, and the treatment after diagnosis is a long-term process. Most rheumatic diseases are difficult to cure and often require long-term, even lifelong, medication. Although most rheumatic diseases are difficult to cure, they are still treatable. With regular and systematic medication, the majority of patients can control their disease, relieve their symptoms, prevent disability, improve their quality of life and save their lives. If rheumatic diseases are not treated or not treated systematically, the disease is often delayed, leading to disability and even life-threatening. With the in-depth research on the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases, the latest treatment methods for rheumatic diseases, such as herbal monomer and compound preparations, biological agents and stem cell transplantation, are being further researched, and there are reasons to believe that rheumatic diseases can definitely be cured in the future.
