Adenomyosis of the gallbladder is a benign disease, and if imaging adequately confirms such disease, observation can continue and surgery is not necessarily an option. However, if there is also a possibility of gallbladder polyps, surgical treatment should be chosen to remove the gallbladder and polyps when combined with gallbladder stones to prevent future cancer. Mud-like stones in the gallbladder are the most likely cause of the previous acute pancreatitis, and papillotomy can prevent the occurrence of another biliary acute pancreatitis to some extent. Another situation that requires surgical removal of the gallbladder is the occurrence of cholecystitis or a recurrence of pancreatitis, then removal of the gallbladder can be considered to eradicate gallbladder stones and clarify the diagnosis of adenomyosis along with the prevention of pancreatitis.
