Young girl with dysmenorrhea for more than 10 years, finally found out that adenomyosis is at work!

While we are getting older, the disease is getting younger. It is likely that many young women have never heard of adenomyosis, and even if they have heard of it occasionally, I am afraid they would not take it seriously, and would only think that it is a disease that only affects older women, and that it is a distant topic. It is true that adenomyosis often occurs in the late reproductive age of menstruating women, according to the literature report, the average age of onset of the disease is 42 to 45 years old, is generally believed to be due to labor and delivery, uterine surgery, etc. caused by the endometrium or superficial myometrial injury, the basal layer of the endometrium invasion of the myometrium to grow and the onset of the disease, so young people are not the main body. However, with the increasing frequency of intrauterine surgical operations, the increase of hormonal pollution and the increasing precision of modern medical diagnostic tests, we find that the age of the population suffering from adenomyosis tends to be younger, and even some women who have not given birth to children also suffer from adenomyosis, which is a headache. In today’s surgery, we encountered a young adenomyosis patient, the patient is 28 years old, her history of dysmenorrhea is more than 10 years. She reported that she had dysmenorrhea 10 years ago, when she was 18 years old, but at that time, it only lasted for 1 to 2 days, which was tolerable, and there was no obvious abnormality in the amount of menstruation or menstrual cycle, so she did not have any treatment. Until 1 year ago, she experienced worsening dysmenorrhea in the same month due to consumption of cold beverages during menstruation, which lasted for 7 days and was intolerable, accompanied by lower abdominal cramps for about 20 days. To the local hospital ultrasound: pelvic effusion, the hospital gave intravenous antibiotics for 7 days, but the effect is not obvious, intermittent oral adenosine capsules for more than 10 days, the symptoms have not been relieved. The next month after stopping the medication, the dysmenorrhea worsened again, and she needed to take “Ibuprofen capsule” orally for 1 capsule/day to relieve the dysmenorrhea. Later, she went to the local hospital again for ultrasound: adenomyosis, and was given hysteroscopic endometrial scraping, and the pathological results showed that the endometrium was in the proliferative stage, and she was given subcutaneous injection of leuprolide 1 injection/28 days, and her menstrual period stopped for nearly 6 months during the period of medication, and the menstruation resumed after stopping the medication for 3 months. Nine months ago, her dysmenorrhea worsened again and lasted for about 8 days, requiring oral ibuprofen capsule 2 capsules/day. She was diagnosed with adenomyosis, cystic echogenicity of the right ovary and multiple cervical cysts on ultrasound. The doctor suggested the use of GnRh drugs after the uterine cavity to place the Man Yue Le ring, she refused, in addition to intermittent menstrual oral painkillers, no further treatment. One month ago, she went to the local hospital for a follow-up ultrasound, which showed adenomyosis. The doctor gave her a Mannix ring, which relieved her menstrual cramps, but she had vaginal bleeding, and finally she could not tolerate it and came to our hospital to seek uterine preservation treatment for adenomyosis. We also took out the Mannix IUD that she had previously had placed during the surgery, and we wish her a better life in the future. What should young women do? The incidence of adenomyosis is getting younger every year, so it is important to draw the attention of young women to this condition. Some gynecological surgeries may induce other diseases, such as adenomyosis, endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., due to operation problems and improper recovery in the later stage while solving some diseases. Therefore, young women must pay attention to protect themselves, as little as possible to do abortion and scraping, have gynecological diseases and early medical treatment, to avoid too much uterine operation, of course, the necessary surgery can not be refused.
