A perianal abscess is an acute and chronic purulent infection that occurs and forms from the perianal rectal tissue or its surrounding space! In simple terms, it is a local infection of the perianal area, but this infection can be different from the general local infection of the body surface and should not be taken lightly. Clinically, there are many patients who ignore the local “small boils” of the anus and delay the best time for treatment, resulting in significant localized pus in the anus, expansion of the lesion and aggravation of the condition.
Most perianal abscesses are caused by infection of the anal sinus, and the inflammation spreads directly through the anal glands, anal ducts and their branches, or through the lymphatic vessels to the perianal rectal space and soft tissues to form purulent diseases! Most patients have an acute onset and often develop a perianal abscess without any obvious cause, while some patients show symptoms such as anal swelling and pain, or fever and general malaise due to the high location of the abscess!
The disease can occur in people of any age, but it is more common in young adults between 20 and 40 years old, more in men than in women, and also in some infants and children.
Because the disease in the early stage of infection, the patient himself is not easy to detect, and so there are conscious symptoms, it has formed an abscess, need to receive surgical treatment, therefore, if we find themselves around the anus lumps, should not be underestimated, please timely to the local regular public hospital anorectal consultation, early to receive standardized treatment, may be free of surgical pain!
