How are prolactinomatous pituitary microadenomas treated?

Prolactinomatous pituitary microadenoma does not have any major side effects when taken for a long time, but it is very difficult for someone to stick to the medication for life. This is why blood tests and liver function should be done every six months while on the drug, and whenever there is a drop in white blood cells or liver function damage, the drug should be stopped. Because of this, we do not advocate the first choice of drug treatment for prolactinomatous pituitary microadenoma, because it is difficult to achieve a cure after long-term drug use, even if surgery is performed again.
