What can I do to get better faster from pneumonia?

Apply all doses of medications, especially antibiotics, on time, even if you feel better just a few days after the course of treatment begins. Missing medications is dangerous, may not lead to recovery, and makes bacteria more likely to be resistant to antibiotics. In case you get another infection, don’t skimp on antibiotics that target pneumonia. If there is a smoker in the house, quit! Avoid being in a smoking environment. Rest, but don’t always stay in bed. It is better to get up and walk around and drink plenty of water. Go to your local hospital quickly if: you have a severe or worsening cough, a persistent fever, or difficulty breathing; you have trouble with the medicine or are worried about possible side effects; but do not stop taking the medicine until you talk to your doctor; you do not feel well or you still have a fever 3 days after starting antibiotics; you should seek emergency medical help if you have difficulty breathing, severe chest pain, blue fingertips or lips, or if you start coughing up blood.
