The vast majority of ovarian cysts are clinically selected for laparoscopic surgery because laparoscopic surgery causes less damage, faster postoperative recovery, and less pain to the patient, who can leave the bed on the same day after surgery to avoid the possibility of intestinal obstruction due to intestinal adhesions and the need for reoperation. However, in case of huge ovarian cysts, it is clinically recommended to choose open surgery. This is because the field of view is clearer, the exposure is better, and there is less possibility of causing side injuries in clinical practice. For giant ovarian cysts, the possibility of malignancy also needs to be ruled out clinically, so frozen pathological sections may be done intraoperatively and the surgical procedure will be decided based on the results.
