I. Which one to choose?
The following masks are ranked from strong to weak in terms of germ blocking ability, and the most effective N95 masks are preferred.
1, medical protective masks (N95/KN95): meet China GB19083-2010 standard filtration efficiency of 95% (non-oily particulate test). N95 masks for the United States NIOSH certification, non-oily particles filtration efficiency 95%. KN95 masks for compliance with the mandatory standard 626 grand particles filtration efficiency ≥ 95%.
2, medical surgical masks: generally made of non-woven material, including the filter layer, mask belt and nose clip. Standard medical surgical masks are divided into 3 layers, the outer layer has a water-blocking role to prevent droplets from entering the mask; the middle layer has a filtering role, can block > 90% of the 5m particles; the inner layer near the mouth and nose to absorb moisture. In daily life, it can be used to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as influenza and respiratory system.
3, KN90 mask: for 0.075m or more non-oil particles filtration efficiency > 90%.
To prevent new coronavirus, it is recommended to use medical protective masks (N95/KN95) or medical surgical masks. It should be noted that N95 masks provide tight protection, but there will be a noticeable stuffy feeling after wearing them for a long time. Therefore, when wearing N95 masks, the duration should not exceed 4 hours at a time, and if the N95 mask is used continuously for a long time, it may cause lung damage. At the same time, it is recommended not to wear N95 masks for children under 7 years old, even if they are N95 masks with special air valve design, because the breathing resistance will be too large and children have the risk of suffocation.
Second, how to identify?
1, N95 mask: to see whether there is “N95” or “KN95” logo in the mask package or in the “small print” on the surface.
2, N: refers to the non-oil particles filtration efficiency of 95%, some masks only write “95% filter bacteria”, etc., are not considered to be “N95”.
Medical surgical masks: These masks are similar to ordinary medical masks, mainly blue or green, but only the words “medical surgical” are clearly written, in line with the “medical surgical mask standard YY 0469-2011” to belong to the medical surgical masks.
