Fever of otitis media in children is a symptomatic manifestation of acute otitis media in children, which should be treated by applying sufficient amount of antibiotic drugs, nasal decongestant, local ear drops and tympanotomy if necessary. If the fever exceeds 38.5℃, apply antipyretic drugs. 1. Otology and blood tests: if the child otitis media fever, hospital visits to check the ear, the general acute congestion of the tympanic membrane, blood tests, including routine blood, C-reactive protein, etc., the results of the majority of leukocytes, neutrophils increased significantly, C-reactive protein is elevated. 2. Drug treatment: follow the doctor’s instructions to apply a sufficient amount of antibiotic drugs, such as amoxicillin clavulanate potassium, cefixime, azithromycin, etc., orally or intravenously; nasal decongestant, 0.5% ephedrine solution nasal drops, to restore the function of the Eustachian tube; tympanic membrane perforation before the ear pain is obvious, 2% phenol glycerol ear drops, anti-inflammatory and pain relieving. If the fever exceeds 38.5℃, apply antipyretic drugs, such as ibuprofen. 3. Tympanotomy: generalized fever, chills, severe local pain, tympanic membrane bulging obvious; tympanic membrane has been perforated, but the perforation is too small, the secretion drainage is not smooth; suspected complications may be, there is no need for immediate mastoid opening, tympanotomy, smooth drainage. If a child with otitis media fever, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital as soon as possible to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology examination, after diagnosis and analysis, take timely treatment measures to avoid further aggravation of the condition.
