It is expected that by 2012, the number of people infected with HIV in China could be as high as 12 million or as low as 2.2 million. In other words, about one in every 100 people will be infected with AIDS. When you think about it, AIDS is indeed very close to us. However, women are the most vulnerable group threatened by HIV, what should be the way to resist the threat of AIDS?
First of all, people should understand that there are three ways of HIV transmission: 1) through sexual contact; 2) through blood transmission; 3) through mother-to-child transmission.
Looking at the analysis of the ratio of men to women in recent years, the proportion of HIV infected women has been increasing year by year, and in some areas it even approaches or exceeds that of men. Therefore, women should build a line of defense to prevent HIV. From the physiological point of view, women are more susceptible to HIV because of the large area of mucous membrane exposed in sexual contact, so it is necessary to abide by sexual morality and resolutely eliminate fully exposed sexual contact with HIV-positive or AIDS patients, which is the fundamental measure to prevent HIV transmission from women through sexual means. Secondly, women have a high chance of transmission through blood due to childbirth and abortion, which makes women more susceptible to HIV infection. From the perspective of women’s social status, patriarchy, cultural attitudes, and lack of knowledge about sexual health contribute considerably to women’s greater susceptibility to HIV.
With the rise of female HIV susceptibility, women infected with HIV have become an important source of infection. By the end of 2002, the number of children with HIV/AIDS had reached 3.2 million worldwide, with the vast majority being mother-to-child transmission. Therefore, it is important for women to take stronger HIV prevention measures, encourage medical counseling before marriage, pregnancy and childbirth, safe sex, and require sexual partners to use condoms, as well as increase women’s independence.
According to the latest WHO report; AIDS is now shifting from high-risk groups such as sex workers, intravenous drug users and men who have sex with men to low-risk groups; mobile populations; especially female mobile populations are at high risk for AIDS; in China, young mobile populations are a vulnerable group in society. From the perspective of AIDS prevention and control, the mobile population is another large number of vulnerable groups that lack the ability to protect themselves.
First, women should avoid unsafe sex and use condoms when having sex, although the chance of HIV transmission through sex is only 0.03-0.05%, but it is 100% dangerous when it happens to them.
Fourth, avoid unnecessary blood exposure; such as beauty, tattooing, ear piercing, pedicure and other operations, which have blood exposure, should try to avoid these operations; if you must carry out the above-mentioned operations, do not try to inexpensive operating rooms or institutions without health certification to do this high-risk operations; if these appliances are not strictly disinfected, it is easy to cause HIV infection; fifth. Female friends, especially foreign working girls living conditions may be more difficult, in order to save money, often several or more people living together in the same apartment, so be sure to avoid sharing toothpaste toothbrush; six, female friends menstrual period to pay attention to hygiene. Seventh, if there are traumatic injuries at work, sports trauma and fighting caused by bleeding must pay attention to protect themselves, when rescuing the sick and wounded, avoid the broken skin contact with the blood of the injured; Eighth, since there is no AIDS vaccine, so health education is the best vaccine to prevent AIDS at this stage; AIDS is not scary, what is scary is the ignorance and fear of AIDS. Therefore, knowledge about AIDS and changing bad behaviors are important measures to prevent and control AIDS.
Ninth, when seeking medical treatment, you should choose a regular medical institution for scientific treatment, and not go to illegal clinics, which will not only delay the disease but also may cause medical infection and endanger your health.
