Is high blood pressure related to adrenaline?

Two disorders in secondary hypertension, such as pheochromocytoma and cortisolism, are associated with the adrenal glands. Pheochromocytoma originates from the adrenal glands and medulla. The tumor releases excessive adrenaline, norepinephrine and dopamine intermittently or continuously, which may manifest as paroxysmal elevation of blood pressure with tachycardia, headache, sweating and pallor. Cortisolism is mainly caused by adrenocortical hyperplasia or adrenocortical adenoma due to excessive secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone, which leads to excessive glucocorticoids, both of which can be considered for surgical treatment.
