How soon can you walk with a broken foot

After a foot fracture, it is normal to return to normal walking after three months. However, there is a wide range of foot fractures in clinical practice, including ankle fractures, metatarsal fractures, talus fractures, heel fractures, etc. The recovery time for fractures in different parts of the body varies and should be decided according to the condition. The most common clinical fracture is ankle fracture, especially the fracture of the outer ankle. For example, if the fracture is minor and the fracture end is not obviously displaced, local external fixation in plaster is usually required. After 4-6 weeks of fixation, the plaster should be removed, functional exercise with partial weight-bearing, regular review of X-rays or CT examinations, and bony healing should be achieved 3 months after the injury, and then the patient can walk normally. In conclusion, for patients during the period of foot fracture, they should avoid ground activities and strengthen nutrition to facilitate the recovery.
