Li Bao and Deng Yongzhi teach edited the book “The Heart Has a Spirit – Coronary Heart Disease Intervention and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting”, which was published and distributed by People’s Health Publishing House in April, 2013. The main purpose of this book is to help patients with coronary heart disease to clarify how to choose interventional therapy or coronary artery bypass grafting. Based on the introduction of coronary artery disease and its clinical assessment, the book provides a more detailed description of coronary artery disease drug therapy, percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary artery bypass grafting in simple and popular language. The emphasis is on with helping the reader to clarify how to choose between intervention or coronary artery bypass grafting. For patients with low-risk coronary artery disease, percutaneous coronary intervention is an acceptable treatment strategy in addition to coronary artery bypass grafting. For complex high-risk patients, coronary artery bypass grafting remains the preferred form of revascularization. At the same time, new achievements in pharmacologic therapy continue to be made. The use of new antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs and intensive lipid-lowering therapy are rewriting the history of pharmacotherapy.
