Is thyroid tumor serious?

Whether a thyroid tumor is serious or not needs to be judged according to the nature of the tumor and cannot be generalized. Most of the thyroid tumors are benign tumors, such as thyroid adenoma, which is generally not serious, and it is recommended to go to regular hospitals for general surgery, without chemotherapy or radiotherapy after surgery. In principle, the probability of long-term survival is more than 80%, especially for early stage tumors, which basically will not affect the life expectancy. However, malignant thyroid tumors, such as medullary thyroid carcinoma or undifferentiated carcinoma, are generally more serious and have poorer therapeutic effects, which can seriously affect the survival of patients. In addition to surgery and oral thyroxine treatment, patients with advanced stage can also choose iodine 131 nuclear medicine treatment. It is recommended that patients should seek medical examination in time to clarify the stage of tumor and take corresponding treatment, pay attention to light diet, avoid spicy and stimulating diet, pay attention to rest and avoid straining.
