Do you know what are the common surgical options for breast cancer?

1.Standard radical surgery for breast cancer, the surgery should include the whole removal of the whole breast, pectoralis major muscle, pectoralis minor muscle, axilla and subclavian lymph nodes. The surgery is more invasive. 2.Enlarged radical surgery for breast cancer, that is, on the basis of the standard radical surgery for breast cancer, the three groups of lymph nodes in the axilla, middle axilla and upper axilla are removed, and the lymph nodes in and around the thorax (i.e. parasternal lymph nodes) are also removed. 3.There are two types of modified radical surgery for breast cancer, one is to preserve the pectoralis major muscle and remove the pectoralis minor muscle; the other is to preserve the pectoralis major and minor muscle. The former lymph node clearance scope is similar to that of radical surgery, while the latter cannot clear the supra-axillary group lymph nodes. According to the observation of a large number of cases, it is believed that there is no significant difference in the survival rate between the application of radical surgery and modified radical surgery for stage I and II breast cancer, and because the pectoral muscle is preserved and the postoperative appearance is better, it has become a commonly used surgical method. 4.Total mastectomy, the scope of surgery must remove the whole breast, including the axillary caudal part, and the pectoralis major muscle fascia. This procedure is suitable for in situ cancer, microscopic cancer and those who are too old and weak for radical surgery. 5.Mastectomy with breast preservation includes complete excision of the lump and axillary lymph node dissection. The lump should be excised with a proper amount of normal breast tissue around the lump to ensure that there is no tumor cell infiltration at the edge of the excised specimen. Postoperative treatment must be supplemented with radiotherapy.
