What is the manifestation of bimaxillary protrusion

Double jaw protrusion is a common facial shape in Chinese people, and there are two types of this misshapen jaw: simple double arch protrusion, i.e. dental double jaw protrusion, which is more common; upper and lower jaw protrusion is the main protrusion of the dental arch is not obvious, called bone double jaw protrusion, which is relatively rare. Here we will introduce the manifestations of dental bimaxillary protrusion. From the facial appearance: First, from the frontal view, patients with bimaxillary protrusion often show open lips and teeth when the lips are relaxed, and may show tension in the chin muscles when the lips are closed, and some patients may also show a gingival smile. Secondly, in the lateral view, patients with bimaxillary protrusion exhibit protrusion and ectropion of the upper and lower lips. The Chinese tend to have an underdeveloped chin, and the receding chin exacerbates this protrusion in visual effect. From the perspective of the teeth in the mouth, dental bimaxillary protrusion patients tend to have less crowding and more protrusion, or “lip tilt”. Dental bimaxillary protrusion can be well corrected by orthodontic treatment, significantly improving the frontal and lateral appearance of the patient.
