Breast lump treatment options – surgery, minimally invasive, focused ultrasound – which one do you choose?

  I. Excision of breast lumps: For lumps located around the nipple and areola, and lumps within 5cm from the nipple, the lumps are removed by an areolar incision/parametrial incision, and the breast tissue and subcutaneous tissue are closed with absorbable knots during the operation, mostly without suturing the skin, with excellent cosmetic results.  The cost of the surgery is about 4000-5000 RMB, and most of these surgeries require hospitalization for about 2 days, which is fully reimbursed by medical insurance. B. EnCor ultrasonic rotary excision system for breast lump removal For those who have multiple breast lumps (preoperatively considered benign tumors, mostly mammary hyperplasia nodules, mammary fibroadenoma) and are worried about multiple incisions left by surgery; or are scarred and worried about postoperative scar growth; or have a history of multiple surgical excisions and their breasts are “full of holes” and can no longer undergo surgery. For those who can no longer receive surgical treatment, we arrange for the EnCor Ultrasonic Rotary Excision System to perform breast lump removal according to each patient’s different situation. The surgical wound is only 3-5mm, and most incisions are made next to the areola or in hidden parts of the breast, with good cosmetic effects. Third, high energy ultrasound focused ablation treatment Breast lumps (HIFU/hair knife treatment) For all the above patients (including breast cancer patients), we will choose this treatment for patients who do not want to leave any scars. We have successfully treated more than 200 cases of breast fibroids and breast enlargement with nodule formation, and also for some breast cancer patients who do not want to undergo surgery, or whose general condition is too poor to tolerate surgery, and have received good treatment results. For every patient who is routinely treated with HIFU, we will perform ultrasound-guided aspiration biopsy before treatment to clarify the nature of the pathology before performing HIFU treatment. It really satisfies the ablation and necrosis of the mass without leaving surgical scars. The principle is described in the relevant article of our department. The mass ablation causes coagulative necrosis of the mass, which still exists after surgery but requires a postoperative absorption period of 3-9 months.   The cost of the procedure is about 10,000 RMB.
