Allergic rhinitis may be considered if there is also an itchy nostril, profuse watery nasal discharge and paroxysmal continuous sneezing for more than a week.
If there is also sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy nose and sore throat, it may be a cold.
If the initial itchy nostrils and sneezing are followed by a watery nose, it may be acute rhinitis.
The specific disease will need to be combined with relevant tests to make a definitive diagnosis.
