Cholinergic urticaria is a specific type of urticaria. It occurs in young people and develops when exercising, nervousness, eating, or drinking alcohol. It is characterized by small (2-3 mm), red, itchy clusters all over the body, with intense itching and a pinching sensation. Sometimes there is a pronounced itching sensation without a wind cluster. The wind masses often occur on the trunk and the proximal end of the limbs, but not on the hands and feet. The wind masses usually do not appear on the hands and feet. The wind masses subside on their own after half an hour or one hour. Severe cases may be accompanied by headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and other symptoms. A few patients are accompanied by vertigo, hypotension, and asthma attacks.
