Current evidence suggests that novel coronaviruses can be transmitted from person to person. Novel coronavirus is transmitted mainly by respiratory droplet transmission and contact transmission, so the population is generally susceptible. It can occur in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent populations. However, the progression and severity of the disease is relatively rapid in immunocompromised populations, such as the elderly. Whether or not a population is infected depends largely on exposure, and it is not the case that people with high resistance are at lower risk of infection. Therefore, the public needs to avoid going to crowded places, wear masks when going out, and maintain hand hygiene, etc., to reduce the chance of exposure to the virus.
