Infertility refers to the inability to have children after two years of cohabitation and a normal sexual life after marriage. There are many causes of female infertility, the main ones are: 1. ovarian dysfunction: ovulation failure due to hypothalamus, pituitary gland or ovaries; luteal function defects; polycystic ovary syndrome; hyperprolactinemia, etc. 2. Fallopian tube diseases: Blockage or loss of function of fallopian tubes can be caused by abortion, infection, endometriosis and ectopic pregnancy. 3. Uterine diseases: uterine malformations, defects, uterine fibroids, endometritis and uterine cavity adhesions. 4.Cervical disease. 5.Endometriosis. 6.Male problems. 7.Immune problem. 8, Other unknown causes. The diagnosis of infertility is therefore aimed at finding the cause of infertility so that it can be treated. Hormone levels and basal body temperature are often measured to see if there are abnormalities in ovulatory function. In addition, hysteroscopic tubal lavage can be used for both diagnosis and treatment; cervical mucus scoring during ovulation and immune antibody measurement can be performed; semen testing and antibody measurement can be performed for male factor infertility; and laparoscopy can facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis. If the problem is follicular growth, clomiphene and hMG can be used to promote follicular growth, followed by hCG to promote ovulation. If ovulation persists, follicular aspiration can be performed under ultrasound to promote ovulation, and in cases of tubal blockage, hysteroscopic lavage or combined hysteroscopic surgery can be performed to break up adhesions and tubal ostomy. For patients with tubal blockage after treatment or bilateral tubectomy, severe endometriosis and unexplained infertility, in vitro fertilization can be used. Intrauterine insemination is feasible for patients with sexual disorders, cervical diseases that cause sperm dysfunction, mild abnormalities in semen, immune infertility and unexplained infertility. For male factor infertility, as long as sperm can be found through epididymal or testicular puncture, IVF technique is still available for conception. In conclusion, the diagnosis and treatment of infertility must be done gradually and with a certain degree of patience, and only when the cause of the disease is clearly identified and treated symptomatically can satisfactory results be achieved.
