Tuberculosis can be transmitted through respiratory droplets if it is active, or if it is sputum positive, and is contagious and requires isolation and treatment. Patients with tuberculosis mainly cough and sneeze, and the tubercle bacilli are discharged into the air and suspended in the droplets, which are infectious. If the treatment effect is satisfactory, the sputum bacteria can be turned negative and the infectiousness decreases significantly. If the effect is unsatisfactory and drug resistance or multi-drug resistance occurs, it is necessary to adjust the medication to extend the course of treatment until the sputum is negative, and then the isolation can be lifted. In the case of latent tuberculosis, the disease is generally not infectious and requires regular monitoring.
