Three ways to deal with meningioma

Meningioma accounts for a high proportion of cranial tumors, about 20%-30%, and is second only to glioma in incidence. However, most meningiomas are benign, i.e. slow growing, with envelope, and most of them can be cured or controlled by surgical excision, and most of them can be excised cleanly without recurrence. The treatment of meningioma is mainly as follows: 1. Surgery The treatment of meningioma is mainly surgical resection. In principle, we should strive for complete resection, and remove the meninges and bone invaded by the tumor, with a view to radical cure. Meningioma is a tumor growing outside the parenchyma and most of them are benign. If early diagnosis can be made and surgery is performed before the tumor damages the surrounding brain tissue and important cranial nerves and blood vessels, total resection should be achieved. 2.Stereotactic radiotherapy (γ-knife, X-knife) is suitable for small tumors in the midline area and skull base with high surgical risk and not high intracranial pressure. 3.Interventional intravascular therapy Selective cannula is placed into the tumor blood supply artery and various emboli or sex hormone antagonists are injected to reduce tumor blood supply, promote tumor necrosis and inhibit tumor enlargement. Doctor’s tip: Since the specific conditions of patients and tumors are diverse and different, there are different countermeasures and the treatment plan should depend on the specific conditions.
