After the diagnosis of HIV infection or AIDS patient, the staff of the medical institution shall notify the fact of the infection or patient to the person himself/herself, or to the guardian if the person himself/herself is incapacitated or has limited ability to act. Staff engaged in the diagnosis, treatment and management of HIV-infected or AIDS patients are not allowed to inform other people of the personal information of HIV-infected or AIDS patients and their families, such as name, gender, home address, unit, etc. If they violate the relevant provisions, they will be punished and held legally responsible.
