Can scars be removed?

It is possible to remove scars, but not all scars can be completely removed and need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis and cannot be generalized. There are two main types of scar removal methods commonly used in clinical practice, namely non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment. Surgical treatment is to remove the scar directly, if the excised wound is small, it can be directly sutured; if the excised wound is large, it needs to be repaired by skin grafting, together with laser treatment. Non-surgical treatment mainly involves the application of hormones plus local anesthetic drugs, which are injected at the base of the scar to inhibit the proliferation of scar fibroblasts, thus achieving the effect of shrinking the scar. Therefore, for shallow recent scars, the scars can be gradually eliminated by applying drugs to improve skin metabolism, together with physical therapy. However, for deeper old scars, conservative treatment can achieve a certain degree of improvement, but cannot completely remove them, and surgical treatment is considered at this time. In daily care, patients should avoid water, keep local clean and dry, and follow medical advice to change medication to prevent secondary infection. Avoid eating spicy and greasy food to avoid stimulating scar growth.
