Can scars be removed?

Some scars can be removed and need to be analyzed specifically in relation to your situation. If it is a shallow, recent scar, it can be gradually removed over time through scar creams and physical therapy, etc. However, if it is a deeper old scar, it is more difficult to remove and can be improved to a certain extent by medication and physical therapy methods, but cannot be completely removed. Clinical methods of scar removal are divided into two main categories, namely non-surgical and surgical treatments. Non-surgical treatment can be done with hormones plus local anesthetic drugs, injected at the base of the scar, which can inhibit the proliferation of scar fibroblasts and reduce the size of the scar. Patients can also irradiate the scar with a special wavelength laser, which can also inhibit the growth of collagen fibers and reduce the size of the scar. Surgical treatment is to remove the scar directly. If the excision is small, the scar can be directly sutured, and if the excision is large, the scar needs to be repaired with a skin graft, which can be combined with laser treatment. Along with scar repair, oral vitamin E can be taken to assist in the repair of the skin.
