A good family environment and a harmonious atmosphere, the treatment and recovery of rheumatoid arthritis, is undoubtedly an extremely important factor. Family care is multifaceted, the important ones are the following: (1) spiritual care: some patients with rheumatoid arthritis, because of the disease affects study, work, social activities or family life, which brings a variety of problems, the need for family sympathy, understanding and help. (2) Living care: The home environment should be kept clean and quiet, the items used by patients should be easily accessible, and facilities such as tables, chairs, beds or baths should be suitable for the needs of patients. The patient’s pain will be reduced by palatable food, rich nutrition, regular indoor and outdoor activities, and useful cultural and recreational activities. (3) Supervise the patient to take medication and exercise: supervise the patient to take medication on time, guide and assist him/her to carry out functional exercises of the joints, encourage the patient to insist on self-care, and do not let the family members do the daily activities, such as not allowing the patient to dress himself/herself, walk, etc. Patients and their families should understand that long-term bed rest and inactivity of the joints of the limbs will not only fail to cure rheumatoid arthritis, but also make the joints that may be fully recovered become permanently disabled.
