Rheumatoid arthritis is not gout. In the general population of patients, it is wrong to call all joint pain and arthritis as rheumatoid arthritis. In clinical practice, the inflammation of the joints caused by rheumatic fever is generally referred to as rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatic fever it is a group of connective tissue inflammation caused by streptococcal infection. Gout, on the other hand, is a metabolic rheumatic disease, mainly due to long-term hyperuricemia resulting in joint or other lesions. The onset of gout is mainly due to clear causative factors, such as heavy alcohol consumption, overeating, cold, exposure to cold, etc. Then an acute attack of joint occurs on the basis of long-term hyperuricemia, mainly involving the unilateral metatarsophalangeal joint, with very intense joint pain, manifesting as obvious redness, swelling and heat, which is self-limiting and can be relieved in about 3-14 days.
