Often, patients will come to the clinic complaining that they have a strong reaction to chemotherapy and decide to give up chemotherapy and switch to Chinese medicine. In such cases, we will usually analyze the patient’s condition, and if the patient has completed a full course of chemotherapy, then he/she can switch to Chinese medicine for maintenance treatment. If the patient has not completed the full course of chemotherapy, we will usually persuade the patient to transfer to the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Ward for the combined treatment of Chinese medicine and chemotherapy. Through the combined use of Chinese medicine and chemotherapy, the patient’s reaction to chemotherapy can generally be reduced, and at the same time, the patient’s efficacy can also be increased.
