How long does it take for lymphadenitis to heal on its own?

Lymphadenitis does not usually heal on its own and patients need to be treated for the cause. However, individual differences exist and cannot be generalized. Lymph nodes are an important part of the systemic circulatory immune system, and inflammation in any part of the body can cause lymphadenitis, and lymphadenitis itself can also cause inflammatory reactions. Lymphadenitis has the red, swollen, hot and painful manifestations of inflammation itself and generally does not heal on its own. In the case of mild lymphadenitis, the patient’s symptoms will gradually resolve in about 1 week with symptomatic treatment and the use of anti-inflammatory and antibacterial drugs. However, if the lymphadenitis is more severe, anti-infective treatment is ineffective, and the disease spreads to become a systemic infection or septic disease, the patient’s treatment time will be extended accordingly. However, patients with chronic lymphadenitis do not need to be treated if they have no specific symptoms. Therefore, once the patient has discomfort in the corresponding area, he or she should promptly consult the hospital’s infection department, etc., so that the professional doctor can take appropriate measures according to the situation.
