How is a painful red lump over the back of the heel examined?

Posterior Achilles bursitis presents as a painful red lump over the back of the heel. So how do we check ourselves for posterior Achilles bursitis in our lives? Bursitis is a wide-ranging condition that includes inflammation of the soft tissues of the knee. The cause may be exercise, injury, overuse or infection. Usually they heal on their own with simple treatment, but in some cases medication intervention is required. The specific treatment depends on the underlying cause that triggered the disease. If you have bursitis and your knee is red and painful with pressure, or if you have fever and other symptoms, then the bursitis is probably caused by an infection. Your doctor will take a small amount of bursa fluid to test for infection, and if the infection is confirmed, you may need to be given antibiotics to treat it. In some rare cases, bursitis caused by infection may require surgery. X-rays, ultrasound or MRI are recommended for early detection and treatment of inflammation in these joints and can effectively relieve the symptoms of knee bursitis.
