Can hip pain heal on its own?

Whether hip pain can heal on its own depends on the cause and cannot be generalized. Hip pain caused by mild sports injuries in young people can be gradually relieved after resting or reducing the amount of exercise. If the hip pain is caused by hip strain or trauma, it is usually difficult to heal by itself. Patients need to rest in bed, pay attention to keeping the hip warm and do not exert themselves, and if necessary, they can undergo closure treatment in the hip joint area or give physical therapy such as acupuncture, moxibustion and physiotherapy instrument baking electricity to improve local blood circulation and relieve pain symptoms. If the patient’s hip pain is caused by femoral head necrosis, it is necessary to reduce weight-bearing activities in the early stage to effectively improve local blood circulation and reduce the painful symptoms of femoral head necrosis. In the late stage, hip joint replacement surgery is needed. Patients should choose different treatment methods according to different conditions, and pay attention to rest and avoid excessive exertion activities.
