Symptoms of sciatica, different types of symptoms vary

Sciatica is a common orthopedic condition with unilateral onset, mainly in adult males, but also in pregnant women, with acute or subacute onset. The sciatic nerve is an important nerve tissue in the human body, and once it develops, the pain is very intense and can lead to mobility problems or even paralysis. So what are the specific symptoms of sciatica? 1, acute sciatica neuritis caused by sciatica symptoms ① back pain: acute onset of sciatica neuritis often first for the lower back pain and lumbar stiffness, a few days later there is intense pain along the sciatic nerve channel. (2) Severe pain after walking and stretching: There are also cases in which the nerve is stretched by walking or exercise a few weeks before the onset of the disease, causing transient pain that gradually worsens and develops into severe pain. The pain spreads from the buttocks or hip to the foot, and is severe in the medial aspect of the greater trochanter, the middle of the posterior iliac foramen, the middle of the posterior thigh, the carpal fossa, the lateral aspect of the calf and the lateral aspect of the dorsum of the foot. ④Nocturnal persistent dull pain: the pain is persistent dull pain with episodes of increase, and the episodes of pain can be burning and stabbing-like, often increasing at night. 2.Symptoms of radicular sciatica: Radicular sciatica is painful and radiating when coughing, sneezing and breathing. The pressure pain of the spinous process and transverse process of the lumbar spine is obvious, while the pressure pain at various points along the sciatic nerve pathway is mild or painless. 3. Symptoms of dry sciatica ① obvious pressure pain: when dry sciatica is present, there will be obvious pressure pain, and pain can be caused when moving the affected limb to make the nerve stretch or when asking the patient to lie on his back for straight leg elevation of the affected limb. ②Mild muscle atrophy: The muscles innervated by the sciatic nerve are relaxed and slightly atrophied, commonly in the popliteal group and gastrocnemius muscle. The muscle pressure pain is obvious in the gastrocnemius and flounder muscles. (3) Numbness in the legs: there may be abnormal sensations such as pins and needles, burning and numbness in the lateral calf and dorsal foot area, but objective sensory disturbances are less common.
