Symptoms of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection

  Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia is an acute inflammatory change of the respiratory tract and lungs caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae, often accompanied by pharyngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia. Its symptoms are mainly manifested in the following ways.  Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is in the form of tracheobronchitis, pneumonia, ear tympanitis, etc., of which pneumonia is the most serious, the incidence is highest in adolescents, Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection starts slowly, the incubation period is 2~3 weeks, clinical symptoms are mild or even asymptomatic, the initial onset has weakness, headache, sore throat, fever, muscle aches, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, etc., headache is significant, fever is generally moderate The fever is usually moderate. After 2~3 days, there are obvious respiratory symptoms, irritating and spasmodic dry cough mainly at night, with little sputum, a small amount of mucus or mucopurulent sputum, and sometimes blood in the sputum. The fever may last for 2-3 weeks, and the cough may remain after the body temperature returns to normal.  Physical examination of mycoplasma pneumonia shows mild nasal congestion, runny nose, moderate congestion in the pharynx, congestion in the ossicles, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and in a few cases, maculopapular rash, erythema or herpes labialis.  In summary, the clinical manifestations of mycoplasma pneumonia are not characteristic, and an X-ray examination and pathogen testing are required to confirm the diagnosis.
