The Mammotome System is an advanced system for the minimally invasive treatment and biopsy of breast masses (lumps, tumors). It is used to perform complete excision of breast masses through small puncture holes under ultrasound stereotactic guidance. With Mamerton, there is almost no scar on the outside of the breast mass, which gives a cosmetic effect that cannot be achieved with traditional surgery, and it is more suitable for young women because it causes less damage to the internal milk ducts. The Mammotome vacuum-assisted minimally invasive mastectomy system has more than 10 years of clinical experience and more than 2 million clinical procedures worldwide, and its safety and reliability are fully recognized by the world of breast surgery. At present, more than 100 hospitals in China are performing the procedure. In 2009, our department started to perform McMerton surgery, and a large number of patients have received good surgical results through the McMerton system, and its minimally invasive and safe features have been tested in practice. The advantages of minimally invasive surgery are: 1. Beautiful incision. The incision is about 3-4mm (about 1/10 of the traditional incision), no suture is needed, and there is basically no scar after surgery, and the incision is concealed and cannot be detected after wearing underwear. Even with multiple incisions, the wound is small and basically does not affect the aesthetics.2. High safety. Less pain. Less surgical complications and less damage to the surrounding tissues.3. Quick post-operative recovery and no hospitalization.4. Precise positioning. Under the guidance of ultrasound, not only can the tumor be completely removed, but also the deep breast masses that cannot be detected by physical examination alone can be accurately removed, especially some small nodules that cannot be reached. 5. Low infection rate. The application of electrocoagulation to stop the bleeding of conventional surgical incision is likely to cause fat liquefaction, and the surgical sutures are retained in the incision as foreign bodies, which are prone to incision infection and poor healing. The disadvantage of McMerton surgery is: the cost is relatively high. Due to the high cost of McMerton surgery, the cost of surgery is also relatively high, about 5,000 yuan, and it is not reimbursed by medical insurance. Postoperative complications and comorbidities are few and mild. The main postoperative complications of minimally invasive surgery are persistent postoperative pain, skin damage, hematoma formation, and incisional infection.
