How is the spine protected after surgery?

General reasons for stiffness, sinking and pain at the surgical site: 1. In the early stage, the muscle wound has not healed, and too much activity can easily lead to pain; then the collar and lumbar guard are not worn closely, and there is still local activity; 2. At 2-3 months, most of them are caused by insufficient muscle strength exercise and muscle weakness; then the spine is afraid to move, leading to stiff joints and muscles; 3. After several months or years, strain + insufficient exercise. Extremity symptom condition: the general recovery period of 12 months, the symptoms smooth down, the average improvement rate of about 70%. Recovery is slow and ineffective for those with longer duration, older age, severe preoperative symptoms or with spinal cord degeneration. During the recovery period, symptoms may recur, such as cold weather, cold and fever, and exertion. A collar is usually worn for 2-4 weeks after cervical spine surgery. Put it on when you are ready to get up, and take it off when you are lying down. The standard of the collar is to hold the chest up, the collar over the chin and sternum, and the neck should not be lowered. The main purpose of the collar: 1, to correct the bad habits of head down; 2, to protect the cervical spine muscles, to promote repair. The cervical collar itself has little effect on bone healing. After 2-4 weeks, the cervical spine can generally move freely. You can drive and sit in a car with little problem, just drive carefully. 1 month after the wound has healed well, you can practice small swallow flying. 13 months in a safe environment without wearing a collar, such as home, neighborhood walk; take a bus, go out, it is recommended to wear a collar, the main purpose is to let the surrounding people be careful of you. 3 months can be free to run, swim. The principle of rehabilitation is gradual and according to your ability. So the speed of recovery varies from person to person. There is no need to force the speed, nor do you want to be cautious. After lumbar spine surgery, you generally need to wear a lumbar belt for 1 month, ready to get up with a good, lie down and then take off. The purpose of the lumbar belt is: 1. to correct the bad habits of “nesting waist”; 2. to protect the muscles of the lumbar spine and promote repair. 1 month later, the belt can be removed and you can start practicing the “little swallow fly”. In 1-3 months, you don’t need to wear a waist in a safe environment, such as at home, walking in the community; when you take a bus or go out, it is recommended to wear a waist, the main purpose is to make people around you careful of you. 3 months can be free to run, swim. The principle of rehabilitation is gradual and according to your ability. So the speed of recovery varies from person to person. There is no need to force the speed, nor do you want to be cautious.
