Can you have intercourse with yellow leukorrhea?

It is not recommended to have intercourse when the leucorrhoea is yellow because normal female leucorrhoea tends to be clear and sticky, and if there is yellowing of the leucorrhoea, it is mostly considered to be caused by disease. It is necessary to diagnose and treat the disease before having intercourse. Yellowish leucorrhea is usually considered vaginitis, commonly known as trichomoniasis, which may produce yellowish-white or yellowish-green leucorrhea, along with vulvar itching. If the patient is not treated and still has intercourse, it may lead to recurrent vaginitis infections and even cross-infection with sexual partners. Yellowish leucorrhea can also be caused by cervicitis, which leads to congestion and edema of the mucous membrane of the cervical canal. If you have intercourse, it may lead to damage to the vaginal mucosa, which can aggravate the condition and cause vaginal pain and bleeding. It may also lead to infection, which in turn may induce diseases such as pelvic inflammatory disease and adnexitis. In case of infection in men, symptoms of urinary tract infection may occur. If the leucorrhea is yellow but not accompanied by vulvar itching, you can first observe it closely and apply warm water or topical lotion to wash the vulva to keep it clean locally. If the leucorrhea is yellow and accompanied by vulvar itching, you should seek prompt medical attention to clarify the cause and then carry out targeted treatment.
