Contents of deep brain electrical stimulation treatment

  Deep brain electrical stimulation, also known as pacemaker surgery, is the latest surgical procedure for Parkinson’s disease that has been carried out at home and abroad in the past decade or so. A hospital carried out the first case of deep brain electrical stimulation surgery for Parkinson’s disease in 2006, which was the earliest in the province and the first hospital to carry out this surgery at the municipal level in China. In the past ten years, Professor Zhao Changdi, director of the functional neurosurgery department of the hospital, has been leading his team to make unremitting efforts to explore and research in DBS for Parkinson’s disease, and has been at the forefront of DBS surgery in China. In May 2013, domestic pacemakers were introduced and approved, and they have carried out surgeries on various models of domestic pacemakers, including single and bilateral G101, G101A, G102 and G102R (rechargeable), and achieved excellent surgical results for dozens of patients with Parkinson’s disease in the surrounding areas and cities have been relieved of their pain. Their technical level has reached the advanced level in China.
