What is interventional cardiovascular disease?

Interventional therapy is a means of treating a disease through a catheter without an incision, guided by some medical imaging equipment. Currently, interventional therapy has become one of the three major modern medical treatments, alongside traditional medical and surgical treatments. Cardiac and vascular disorders are the most widely used areas of interventional therapy. Compared with traditional medical drug therapy, interventional therapy achieves clinical results that were previously unattainable with drug therapy and has the tendency to replace surgical procedures in some cases. For example, radiofrequency ablation is used to treat paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, various premature beats and ventricular tachycardia; blocking devices are used to treat congenital heart diseases such as patent ductus arteriosus and central septal defect with hole II; balloon dilation is used to treat mitral stenosis and pulmonary stenosis; stent implantation is used to treat coronary artery disease and various vascular stenosis; pacemakers are used to treat bradycardia, prevent sudden death and treat heart failure. Some diseases can be completely cured. In our hospital, the aforementioned diseases are no longer treated solely with traditional drugs and surgical procedures. Compared with surgical procedures, interventional treatment has the following advantages: 1. The surgery is done through a 2-3 mm thick catheter, so the trauma is minimal. 2. Quick recovery. It is because of the small trauma, so patients recover quickly after surgery, usually cardiovascular interventional patients can get out of bed 24 hours after surgery, daily life can be completely self-care. 3.Good efficacy and safety. Since interventional treatment does not require an incision, general anesthesia, and no wound healing process, it avoids many of the complications often encountered during and after surgery, and safety is greatly improved. 4.Meets the modern desire for beauty. Since the surgery is not open, no wound scar is left after the treatment, so it is not visible at all after the intervention. This is especially suitable for children, women and industry practitioners who have high requirements for appearance and appearance.
